“Marusin” is an oversized jumper with wide sleeve and dropped shoulder. Lacy pattern is used for the body and sleeves (stitch combination for pattern “Flower” is initially taken from the book “Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible” by Hitomi Shida).
Steps of work:
• Main body from the bottom upwards until underarms – work in rounds (Italian cast on, ribbing, lacy pattern);
• After the split front and back pieces are worked in back- and forth- rows, continuing pattern “Flower”, shaping neck and shoulders in separate panels;
• Shoulders seamed with three-needle bind-off, then neckband is worked in 1x1 ribbing (technique used: double border or linking seam, or any you prefer);
• Sleeves worked from the armholes on picked up stitches down to cuffs, then cuffs with tapestry needle bind-off (or any you prefer).
SIZE
Finished item chest circumference: 115/130/150/165 cm - 45/51/59/65"
Measure your chest circumference (if you don’t know it) and choose the size in accordance with the desired ease. “Marusin” is designed to have 25-50 cm [10-20”] ease. If you work on a size with more than 35 cm [14”] ease, you might want to adjust the sleeve length.
Needles: circular knitting needles with 40-100 cm cord [15-40”] 4.00 mm [US size 6] or any which help you obtain the gauge and 3.5 mm [US 4] or any half size smaller than the main ones. DPNs of the same sizes if you don’t use Magic loop method for the sleeves.
Notions: stitch markers, measuring tape, tapestry needle or hook size 3.5-4 mm [US E-G] to hide loose ends, scissors, row counter (optional).

in stockinette stitch on the larger needles AFTER BLOCKING.
